AERA Board Chairman delivered a speech at the board meeting of the Ministry of Energy

Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov chaired a board meeting of the Ministry of Energy in a video conference on the results of 2020 and the tasks for 2021.

First of all, the memory of Khojaly victims was marked by the 29th anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy, which became the blood memory of our people.

It was noted that, under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, international justice was restored with the glorious victory of the 44-day Patriotic War. Our martyrs who died in the battles for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan were commemorated with deep respect and sorrow, and a video about the Khojaly tragedy was shown.

The board meeting continued with discussion of the work done in 2020 and the tasks for the current year.

The meeting heard reports from the relevant departments of the ministry on the work done in 2020 to improve the regulatory framework in the field of oil and gas, energy efficiency, energy, international cooperation, development of the regulatory environment, expansion of  the use of renewable energy sources.

The Chairman of the Board of the AERA Samir Akhundov made a report on the work done by the Agency in 2020. Then the report of the Renewable Energy Agency was heard.

The issues of executive discipline and consideration of citizens' appeals were also discussed at the meeting.

In conclusion, the Chairman of the Board, Minister of Energy talked about the the tasks arising from the decrees and orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, including the creation of a green energy zone in accordance with "Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for Socio-Economic Development". He gave relevant instructions to the structural units of the Ministry on the use of energy resources and energy efficiency, implementation of state programs, international cooperation, further strengthening executive discipline, sensitivity to citizens' appeals and other issues.
