The 44th meeting of the Energy Community Regulatory Board (ECRB) took place in Athens. The Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA) Mr. Samir Akhundov participated in the meeting. Mr. Akhundov gave a speech related to the current situation in energy regulating in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During the meeting participants discussed and accepted amendments to the rules of internal procedure, familiarized with presentations on candidates to the presidency of the ECRB for the 2020-2021 period, and listened to the speech on novelties in the framework of the ACER platform. Then, ECRB members talked about changes after the last ECRB meeting. The ECRB retail market report for 2019 was presented, as well.    

There were two separate sessions dedicated to the electricity and natural gas issues. During those sessions relevant reports were presented, outcomes of inquiries were announced, the wholesale market as well as transmission and distribution system coordinators were analyzed. Working programs in these fields for 2020 were also accepted, the REMIT report for the next year was presented. 

At the end of the meeting, members discussed the application of the GASREG Egypt regulator for joining the ECRB activities. Besides that, the ECRB annual report was presented, members also accepted the 2020 working program.
