The full and associative members’ representatives of Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA) met in capital city of North Macedonia – Skopje.
The delegation led by the Chairman of the Board of Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA) Samir Akhundov attended the event. The meetings of the ERRA Tariff Committee and ERRA Licensing/Competition Committee as well as ERRA General Assembly were held on the first day of a two-day event on 15th – 16th April. Also these meetings were attended by the delegation members - AERA experts representing the relevant fields.
In the course of the committee meetings the work plan for 2019-2020 was introduced, tariff changes and other actual issues, development and implementation of the support schemes for promotion of renewable energy, retail markets functionality and new licensing benchmarks were discussed within the roundtable meetings.
During the General Assembly meeting the membership, financing and budget issues, changes to ERRA charter as well as other administrative issues were discussed, relevant decisions were taken and proceeded to voting.
Next day the Chairman of the Board of AERA Samir Akhundov attended the ERRA Chairmen Meeting. During the meeting different showcases on benchmarking study on TSO/DSO, applicable new models, best communication practices for the energy regulatory commissions as well as lessons learned concerning ERRA-members’ coordination projects were presented and intensively discussed.
The meeting of chairmen, presidents and commissioners is traditionally held twice a year since 2009. The regular meetings are arranged for the bilateral discussions of the key challenges the member organizations are facing. The participants of these informal meetings gain an opportunity to share information and details on recent changes and expectations in the electricity and gas fields in the member countries.
