The Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA) has hosted a meeting with members from Asian Development Bank (ADB) delegation visiting Azerbaijan.

The meeting was attended by Rovshan Ismayilov, Deputy Chairman of the AERA Management Board, Nana Gurgenidze, ADB Senior Energy Specialist, and Sakari Oksanen, ADB Heating Expert, along with staff from both ADB’s Baku office and AERA.

The discussions covered the upcoming 2024 UN Climate Change Conference (COP 29), scheduled to be held in Baku this November, as well as improving efficiency in the heat supply sector and decarbonization, promoting the utilization of renewable energy sources, implementing pilot projects with ADB’s support, and regulating tariffs in the electric power sector.

The meeting also explored prospects for future cooperation and addressed issues of mutual interest.
