The Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA) hosted a meeting with representatives of Tetra Tech international consulting company on May 14.

During the meeting, general information was provided about the technical assistance project “Low-carbon Solutions in the Electricity Sector of Azerbaijan”. The meeting also discussed the steps to be taken for the project’s implementation.

The “Low-carbon Solutions in the Electricity Sector of Azerbaijan” project will be implemented as part of the Memorandum of Understanding on technical support for development of the electricity sector of the Republic of Azerbaijan, inked between Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Energy and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

As part of the said project, it is planned to prepare a roadmap containing policy and technology recommendations for decarbonizing the energy sector.
