Chairman of AERA Board attending ERRA Annual Conference

Samir Akhundov, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA), is attending the 22nd Annual Conference of the Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA) in Muscat, Oman, on May 5-6, convening for the first time in the Gulf region.

The conference, themed “Progressing Energy Transition via Effective Policies and Regulation”, focuses on key topics such as energy sustainability, diversification of energy sources, reduction of carbon emissions, and current key challenges in advancing clean energy.

The event also features presentations on grid integration and management, cross-border cooperation, market dynamics, necessary reforms to prevent instability and volatility, role of transition fuels and perspectives for implementation of decarbonized fuels, as well as the future of renewable sources and their support.

Established in Bucharest on December 11, 2000, the Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA) is a platform for knowledge and best-practice sharing in energy regulation, bringing together 47 regulatory authorities from 43 countries. AERA has had a longstanding relationship with ERRA and has been its Associate Member since April 2018.
