Chairman of AERA Board receives TAQA company’s representatives

Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA) Mr. Samir Akhundov received Mr. Omar Al Hashmi, CEO Transmission and Distribution of UAE’s Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA) and Mr. Gabriele Manduzio, the company’s Director for Network Development and Investments.

During the meeting, the parties shared their perspectives on a number of issues provided for in the “Law on Electric Power”, which came into effect in Azerbaijan on January 1, 2024. Additionally, they discussed TAQA’s potential assistance to our country regarding the operation of new solar and wind power plants. Information was also provided about the Black Sea submarine cable project connecting Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Romania.

TAQA energy holding company was founded in 2005. TAQA, one of Abu Dhabi’s leading companies, plays an important role in the implementation of the Emirate’s economic strategy. The company currently operates in 11 countries. TAQA’s investments are mainly focused on companies engaged in energy production, water desalination, oil and gas production and storage. In addition, the company has invested in the mining, metallurgy and service sectors.
