AERA represented at regional energy reforms summit in Uzbekistan

Agha Hajizade, Head of the International Relations Department, and Elmar Gulaliyev, Head of the Energy Liberalization Department of the Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA), represented the Agency at the “Regional Energy Reform Summit: Strengthening Regulatory Practices”, held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on November 27-28.

The event, organized by the Energy Market Development and Regulation Agency of Uzbekistan (EMDRA) in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), brought together representatives from energy ministries, regulatory agencies, and transmission and distribution system operators from 10 countries.

Speaking at the opening session, Agha Hajizadeh shared insights into AERA’s activities, efforts to learn from international experiences in energy regulation, and the steps taken to enhance cooperation in this field.

The two-day summit’s sessions touched upon issues related to energy regulatory reforms, digitalization, innovation, energy market dynamics, and the sustainable energy transition. The event also featured case studies from Turkey, Georgia, Indonesia, Australia, the United States, and Germany.
