Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA) and Israel’s Electricity Authority (IEA) held an online meeting to exchange experiences on the energy regulatory issues.
Online meeting aimed at developing and expanding collaboration between AERA and Israel’s Electricity Authority (IEA), to hold energy markets analysis and identify potential areas for effective exchange of experience.
During the meeting, both sides discussed various bilateral issues ranging from energy market design both in Azerbaijan and Israel, the development of renewable energy resources and its use and future cooperation between authorities.
After opening remarks by Elnur Soltanov, Deputy Minister of Energy, Samir Akhundov delivered a presentation on AERA’s activity in Azerbaijan.
Yoav Katsavoy of IEA gave an overall information about Israel’s energy market, reforms in the electricity sector recently, especially unbundling of generation, transmission, and distribution from a vertically integrated monopoly.
Sides agreed to hold the next series of meetings on expert levels.
