From August 10, the work of engineers carrying out the state inspection of gas meters in the Metrology Department of “Azeriqaz” Production Union will be monitored by specialists of the Energy Regulatory Agency. By the relevant order of the Ministry of Energy, a working group consisting of employees of the Ministry, the Agency and “Azeriqaz” PU was established to conduct monitoring.
Parviz Aliyev, Head of the Energy Regulation and Monitoring Department of the Energy Regulatory Agency, said that the purpose of the monitoring by the Agency's specialists was to inspect the "Meters Examination Department" of the "Meters Examination Laboratory" under the Metrology Department of the "Azeriqaz" PU.
He noted that in order to protect the rights and legitimate interests of citizens in the energy sector, the Agency participates in tests, technical inspection, verification of meters and an objective assessment and documentation of these results.
According to Parviz Aliyev, in order to ensure transparency in the monitoring process, the Agency's specialists have free access to laboratory premises and conduct unrestricted monitoring at all stages of verification. Monitoring is also important from the point of view of protecting the rights of citizens.
He noted that "The monitoring is carried out with the aim of protecting the rights of consumers in the process of gas supply, and, as I said earlier, to increase transparency." The most important thing is that the consumer can participate in the process by coming to the laboratory that conducts the state inspection of the meters. At the heart of this monitoring is consumer satisfaction.
In order to increase consumer satisfaction, the Agency monitors the improvement of the quality of gas supply services, timely considers complaints and appeals from consumers and regularly informs the public.
