Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency opens new branch in Mingachevir

On Monday 1 June 2020, Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency officially has opened its new branch at 48 Nakhchivan Street, Mingachevir following a move from its previous office in Yevlakh city.

The branch, which employs 10 staff, is open for appeals on power and gas supply from the household and non-household consumers (entrepreneurs), as well as communities in Yevlakh, Barda, Tartar and Aghdash cities.

Besides this, the Agency’s new branch offers services such as the preliminary approval of the projects based on technical rules for connecting electricity and gas supply networks, issuance of operational certificates to electrical facilities and newly-constructed industrial gas pipework installations, as well as knowledge assessment of employees of power facilities, responsible personnel and engineers for safety and labor protection, maintenance and technical safety rules.

The local office also investigates requests from household and business consumers on alleged violations of consumer rights and takes preemptive measures.

In line with the decisions №189 and 190 made by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 29 May 2020, due to the lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), the Mingachevir branch of the Agency  handles consumer enquires by offering online appointments, video and telephone conference calls and by email.

Upon the consumer request, the branch inspectors conducts site investigations.
