On August 1, 2023, a seminar was held at the Scientific Research Institute of Vegetable Growing under the Ministry of Agriculture within the framework of the project "Application of solar energy in irrigation" implemented with the financial support of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

It should be noted that the author of this project, the winner of KOICA's "Share your CIAT" grant competition, is Mehdi Abdullayev, chief specialist of the Division of Liberalization in Energy Field and Investment Attraction of the Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency.

Welcoming the participants of the event, Mr. Elmar Allahverdiyev, Chairman of the Institute Board, emphasized the importance and topicality of the issue.

Mr. Jong Hyun Moon, KOICA Country Director, expressed his thanks for organizing the seminar and gave a brief information about the project.

Then Mehdi Abdullayev made a presentation on "Application of solar energy in irrigation in Azerbaijan" and brought to the attention of the event participants the technical, economic and ecological advantages of this innovative application.

At the end of the seminar, the participants were informed about the working principle and application areas of the demonstration device developed within the scope of the project.
