The Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA) hosted a seminar organized by the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER) on July 4-5.

The two-day seminar featured presentations on several topics including “Overview of Implemented Different Single Buyer Models”, “Development of the EU Internal Energy Market”, “Development of Cross-Border Trade. Regional Approach (Energy Community)” and "Phased Transition to a Competitive Electricity Market in Azerbaijan”.

The presentations provided information on the single buyer models implemented in Hungary, Canada and Energy Union countries, the advancement of the EU’s internal energy market and market models, the progress in cross-border trade within the Energy Union, the establishment of the green energy corridor – in which Azerbaijan is also involved – and other relevant topics.

The seminar also saw an exchange of ideas among participants on the mentioned subjects.
