Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Energy held a commemoration in honor of the 36th anniversary of the January 20 tragedy, a defining chapter in the Azerbaijani people’s struggle for independence and sovereignty in the history.

In 2025, the Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA) received a total of 10,425 appeals, both directly and through the Ministry of Energy, concerning consumer rights protection, the supply of electricity, heat and natural gas, and other matters. Of these appeals, 8,884 were related to electricity supply, including 1,477 of informational nature. There were 1,130 appeals regarding natural gas supply, with 129 of them being informational. The Agency received a total of 232 appeals regarding heat supply, including 28 of informational nature. Meanwhile, 179 appeals concerned other issues, with 15 of them being informational.

In the fourth quarter of 2025, the Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA) received a total of 2,891 appeals, both directly and through the Ministry of Energy, concerning consumer rights protection, the supply of electricity, heat and natural gas, and other matters. Of these appeals, 2,290 were related to electricity supply, including 378 of informational nature. There were 422 appeals regarding natural gas supply, with 28 of them being informational. The Agency received a total of 143 appeals regarding heat supply, including 14 of informational nature. Meanwhile, 36 appeals concerned other issues, with 1 of them being informational.

In December 2025, the Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA) received a total of 1191 appeals, both directly and through the Ministry of Energy, concerning consumer rights protection, the supply of electricity, heat and natural gas, and other matters. Of these appeals, 896 were related to electricity supply, including 117 of informational nature. There were 191 appeals regarding natural gas supply, with 6 of them being informational. The Agency received a total of 84 appeals regarding heat supply, including 11 of informational nature. Meanwhile, 20 appeals concerned other issues.

On December 10, the Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA), Samir Akhundov, met with a World Bank delegation led by Roger Coma Cunill, Senior Energy Specialist and task team leader.

A two-day seminar for media representatives was held within the framework of the European Union’s EU4Energy Phase II Programme, jointly organized by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA), and the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER).

An awareness-raising seminar was held as part of the “Entrepreneur Hour” project through the joint cooperation of the Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA) and the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA).
