In what cases can the supply of electricity be stopped?

Suspension of electricity supply to the population by the energy supply company is determined by the following sub-clauses, specified in clause 9.13 of the "Rules for the use of electricity", approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan on February 2, 2005. No. 18:

• If there is a relevant written request of the consumer (indicating the reason and duration of the suspension of electricity supply);
• In case of non-payment of the electricity bill determined by the meter in full within 1 month after sending it to the consumer by the energy supply enterprise;
• In case of repair-prevention and emergency works, as well as prevention of fire or gas leakage;
• If a relevant contract has not been concluded with the energy supply company;
• By court decision;
• When conducting a special operation against religious extremism, on the instructions of the bodies conducting special operations against religious extremism - the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Security Service.

In what cases can the gas supply be stopped?

Suspension of gas supply by a gas supplying organization to consumers is determined by the following sub-clauses specified in clause 6.1 of the "Rules for the use of gas", approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan on May 12, 2011 No. 80:

• If there is a relevant written request of the consumer (indicating the reason and duration of gas supply suspension);
• In case of repair-prevention and emergency works, as well as prevention of fire or gas leakage;
• If the consumer's gas installation does not meet the requirements of state standards set by the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control;
• In case of incomplete payment of the gas bill determined by the meter within 1 month after submission (delivery) to the consumer by the gas distributor;
• If no relevant contract has been concluded with the gas distributor;
• By court decision; 
• In the case of a special operation against religious extremism, on the instructions of the bodies conducting special operations against religious extremism - the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Security Service. 

In what cases can the supply of thermal energy be stopped?

Suspension of heat energy supplied to the consumer by the energy supply enterprise is determined by Clause 8.1 of the "Rules for the use of heat energy" approved by the Resolution No. 303, dated September 5, 2023 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
