As the continuation of the cooperative relations within the framework of Azerbaijan-Türkiye I Energy Forum, the meetings on the second stage of the action plan prepared for the cooperation in 2022 between the Energy Regulatory Agency of Azerbaijan (AERA) and the Energy Market Regulatory Agency of Turkey (EMRA) have been started. At the meeting, the Turkish experience regarding the rules for connecting to the electric grid and using the system, regulating electricity distribution tariffs and the permissible income limit for energy losses was shared with AERA’s specialists, with the participation of the AERA and EMRA’s specialists.
At the meeting, head of AERA's Strategic Planning and Innovations Department Hikmet Hasanov, and head of the International Relations Group of EMRA's Strategic Development Department Mehmet Kurkchu, emphasized the importance of such meetings held within the framework of cooperation and said that experience exchanges will be useful at this stage of the action plan.
Afterwards, EMRA’s expert in the field of Energy, Mahammad Amin Hajibekiroglu, gave the detailed information to the participants of the meeting about the methods of electricity distribution in Turkey, connection to the electricity grid as welll as the determitaion of connection grids.
Presenting on the tariff regulation for electricity distribution and the permissible income limit for energy losses, Merve Bildirici, EMRA Energy specialist, who shared her Turkish experince, brought to the attention of the participants the structure of the electricity market, tariff regulation, as well as the information contained in the current legislation on the mentioned issues.
At the end of the meeting, which continued with an interactive question-and-answer session, an agreement was reached to continue the consultation-oriented working discussions between the experts of AERA and the speakers in order to improve the normative legal framework in the Republic of Azerbaijan
