AERA representatives attended the ERRA training courses held in Vienna

The training courses named ‘Essentials of energy system for non-engineers’ organized by the Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA) were held in Vienna from the 9th to the 11th of December, 2019. The courses for the ERRA members took place with the participation of the Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA) representatives – Mr. Fariz Shirinov, Head of the Unit of Legal Support and Analysis and Mr. Sanan Abbasov, Chief Specialist of the Unit of Liberalization in the Energy field and Investments. 

During the three-day trainings different topics, such as the brief introduction to the electricity and its history, the electricity production, transmission and distribution systems and the consumption and role of consumers were discussed.     

To familiarize with the scientific and practical novelties in the field on the last day of the event trainees visited the EVN waste management power station located in the Dürnrohrregion. While being in the station they watched the documentary film on burning the gas extracted from utilities, using the natural gas by lifting mechanisms, as well as methods for cleaning and revealing of the gas gained within the process.     

Then, representatives of the ERRA member organizations visited the headquarters of the Austrian Independent Transmission System Operator – AGP and attended the presentation performed by the Head of the National Network Monitoring Center Mr. Tahir Kapetanovic.  

At the end of the courses trainees were awarded with the certificates.
