The Turkish energy regulator shared their experience on the electricity market with AERA

In accordance with the two-stage action plan for cooperation between the Energy Regulatory Agency of Azerbaijan (AERA) and the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) for 2022, EPDK representatives shared their experience for the electricity market with AERA experts.

Head of AERA's Strategic Planning and Innovations Division Hikmet Hasanov, who opened the meeting with an introductory speech, thanked the specialists of the brotherly Republic of Turkey on behalf of AERA for their support and mentioned the importance of such exchange of experience in energy regulation area of Azerbaijan.

Emphasizing the importance of the cooperation protocol signed between EPDK and AERA, head of the International Relations Group of the Strategic Development Department of EPDK Mehmet Kürkçü, expressed satisfaction with the mutual cooperation. He also made a presentation on "EPDK and the Turkish energy market" and informed about the activities of EPDK, its duties and responsibilities in the regulated areas.

Thereafter, EPDK’s energy specialists Mustafa Yavuzdemir made a presentation on “The role of EPDK in the Turkish electricity market”, Gökay Kütükcü on“the History and current state of the electricity market in Turkey”, Merve Bildirici on “the Tariff regulation in Turkey's electricity sector” and shared the best practices of the brotherly country.

The meeting continued with an interactive QA session.

In accordance with the activity plan, the cooperation between two institutions should be developed and series of meetings with focus on experience-sharing are to be held.
